ECOWAS Women in Banking and Finance Summit and Awards Accra 2025

4th Annual Finance Industry Women Leaders Conference

FinanceShe West Africa

Brief Synopsis:
The third in the annual series of international conferences bringing together women from across the diverse finance industry spectrum, to discuss issues exclusive to their welfare, career growth and development in the banking and finance space.

It is the first such summit in Ghana to discuss the passage of the new Affirmative Action and Gender Equality Law passed by the Ghanaian Parliament in 2024 under the innovative theme: “The Passage of the New Affirmative Action Law, Examining Its Implications for Women Leadership in The Banking and Finance Sector” and specifically for finance sector institutional ladies’ groups.

In 2024, it was rebranded as The Finance. She Summit, as one of the series of events being held to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the African Women in Banking and Finance (Ghana) Awards. It was held on 30th November, 2024 at the prestigious Chartered Institute of Bankers Main Auditorium.

The audience was made up of top female corporate leaders, senior banking and finance sector executives and speakers included top finance law experts as well as ladies’ groups representatives. It was really impactful and fun.

The 2025 Finance. She (ECOWAS EDITION) Summit, which is also an anniversary commemorative event, will be expanded to cover the West Africa sub-region. It will also be the first of its kind in the sub-region.

It was officially launched in Accra at the Finance. She 2024 Accra Summit by high level banking and finance sector dignitaries such as Mr Robert Dzato (CEO of the Chartered Institute of Bankers Ghana), Bishop Mrs. Patricia Sappor (immediate past and first female President of the Chartered Institute of Bankers Ghana), Mrs. Francisca Karikari (Former Managing Director, Glico Life Insurance and CEO of Glorygate Investments representing the Insurance and Investments Sector) and Mrs Joyce Dabo (Director of Programs, Sinapi Aba Savings and Loans representing the Microfinance Sector).

Key Highlights: High impact keynote addresses from the Ministry of Finance and other industry bodies, a number of insightful panel discussions, solidarity messages by dignitaries and industry leaders, business networking cocktails and lots of fun.
